AA District 70

Corrections Committee – There are lots of ways to be of service. For more information on how to get involved, contact Tammy Z, the Women’s Corrections Chair, at corrections_women@ashevilleaa.org. Andrew is the new Men’s Corrections Chair. Please attend the next GSR meeting to connect with him.

Below are the current opportunities/needs:

Buncombe County Jail in Asheville – volunteers needed, men and women. There is a 30-minute application and training process to become a volunteer. They are still working to get volunteers, get them trained, and get the meetings set up.

Yancey County Jail in Burnsville – there is a monthly Men’s meeting on the third Thursday of each month and a monthly Women’s meeting on the fourth Tuesday of each month, both at 7 pm. We could always use more volunteers. Contact Tammy Z if interested.

Western Correctional Center for Women in Swannanoa – women’s facility. They are working to get a Blue Card training scheduled and start up an evening meeting on Tuesday or Wednesday nights.
